All of us have experienced the state of inner confusion. We have all said to ourselves: “…part of me wants x and part of me wants y…”. It is these states of inner conflict that can keep us from moving forward in life.
These states of inner conflict are very common in weight issues, procrastination, confidence issues, fear of commitment issues and more. We have a desire to do ‘x’ and against our better judgment find ourselves doing ‘y’ or sabotaging ourselves.
In these kinds of situations, we may have had life experiences which troubled us, caused us pain or we may have made some kind of decision about ourselves or life based on an experience or experiences or what we were taught or told or just absorbed from an authority figure such as a parent.
The part of us that knows we can reach for the things we want and have the experiences we want is hampered by the part that is saying “no way! I’m never going to get myself in a situation again where I might experience that again.” Or it may be that the part of us that knows our potential is inhibited by unhelpful messages we received when we were younger.
Usually, the nature of this inner conflict and its etiology is not available to us in any detail at a conscious level. In hypnosis however where your mind is quietened, we can access these different aspects of ourselves, find out more about them and how they are operating and resolve the conflicts they are experiencing. Then you can behave more in the way you want to.
Parts work is very simple yet very effective. In hypnosis, the information we want about how we are sabotaging ourselves is easily available to us, as is the possibility of resolution.
